The USCOM 1A is now commissioned into 51 of China’s COVID-19 designated hospitals in the cities of Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Xiamen, Tianjin, Guangzhou etc.
These installations are part of a strategic expansion of critical care services for management of COVID-19 and other seasonal infectious diseases. Severe COVID-19 patients most commonly die of cardiovascular failure from septic shock rather than respiratory failure, so while ventilators are common, it is USCOM 1A which contributes to saving the lives of patients with severe COVID-19.
The Health and Medicine Commission of the People’s Republic of China recommended the USCOM 1A as the choice of care for treatment of adults and children with severe COVID-19 cases in it’s most recent Guidelines. USCOM 1A provides non-invasive, rapid and accurate monitoring of cardiovascular function allowing immediate and precise diagnosis and optimal choice of therapy in sepsis.
